SVS-Vistek Camera Delivers Stunning 127-Megapixel Resolution Imaging for Detail-Demanding Optical Inspections

LEWISVILLE, Texas - April 29, 2024 - Leveraging a powerful 127.6 megapixel (13392 x 9528 pixel) CMOS sensor, the SVS-Vistek shr661 camera acquires full resolution images at speeds up to 20.3 frames-per-second (FPS) when conducting detail-demanding industrial inspection of wafers, flat panels and solar panels, as well as non-industrial optical tasks such as geo-mapping, film making and life sciences.

Available in color and monochrome models, the SVS-Vistek shr661 industrial camera is built on an IMX661 sensor from the Sony Pregius series featuring a large pixel structure of 3.45 x 3.45 µm and backlight technology enabling very high sensitivity and above-average noise behavior. Despite an oversized sensor, the camera sports an extremely compact, integration-friendly housing measuring only 80 x 80 x 83mm. An IP30 metal enclosure with thermally optimized cooling protects internal electronics from harsh industrial environments in an extended temperature range of -10° to 45° C.

Every feature of the SVS-Vistek shr661 emphasizes performance. Multiple inputs and four power-out outputs support precise triggering as well as sequencers and logical operators, while a built-in strobe controller can drive LED lighting directly, thus eliminating the need to purchase and integrate a separate controller. Plus, the standard M72 lens (FFD 19.55) thread allows the shr661 to be used with a wider selection of lenses and adapter rings. GenICam with GenTL simplifies integration into all major machine vision software packages.

Global shutter

Most sensors with 100 megapixels or more deploy a rolling shutter that reads out pixels one after the other, leading to image distortion and artifacts. To resolve this issue, SVS-Vistek incorporates an advanced global shutter so the shr661 can accurately capture fast moving objects, such as items on a conveyor. Unlike rolling shutters, global shutters guarantee that all pixels are exposed at exactly the same time. As a result, global shutters help to eliminate distortions caused by object movement.

CoaXPress or 10GigE interfaces

High-speed imaging at resolutions of 127.6 MP requires powerful interfaces for data transport. The shr661 has a 4-lane CoaXPress-12 interface to transfer images to a frame grabber at up to 50GB/second. The camera is also available with a fast 10GigE interface transmitting 9 fps directly to the PC plus an option for PoE.
