MONTREAL, Canada - May 28, 2024 - NorPix Inc., a leader in the development of digital video recording technology, has launched its new Digital Signal Amplifier (DSA) Trigger Box for precisely synchronizing exposure for up to eight machine vision cameras from a single external synchronization signal or internal pulse generator, therefore eliminating the need for PTP compliant network infrastructure. Compared to a conventional master-slave configuration for camera triggering, the DSA Trigger Box does not experience propagation delay on exposure.
Along with pulse generation from 1 Hz to 1000 Hz, the DSA Trigger Box amplifies and reconditions the digital signal for a stronger, more dependable trigger to the connected cameras and also supplies 12V or 24V DC power to each camera with the sync signal from its front BNC input. If additional cameras need to be synchronized, multiple DSA Trigger Boxes can be easily daisy-chained.
The Norpix DSA Trigger Box is compatible with any camera featuring an external trigger input including those featuring GigE Vision (5, 10, 25 and 100 GigE), USB3, Camera Link, and CoaXPress interfaces. Adding value to the package is its inclusion of the StreamPix pulse generator module for control and an Arduino microcontroller with additional electronic components to reformat and drive the pulse signal to the connected cameras.
